Nothing exciting ever happens in this town so when something crazy happens it's big news. And me as a stay at home mom, any excitement is welcome. Well, sort of.
I decided to take the kids for a walk to the water this afternoon. We're 6-8 blocks away from it. Pretty uneventful until we were on our way home and I hear sirens behind me. I hear an engine rev as if it were being redlined. I turn my head and right next to me some guy in a Hyundai Accent almost loses control of his car that he's probably driving 60+ mph. I realize that I'm watching a police pursuit. Both the guy and the cop were going at excessive speeds in a 25mph very residential area. I can't even tell you how many kids were outside playing. Scary.
Next thing you know I'm watching him almost hit a guy in a pickup truck head on. Thank goodness the guy swerved and was ok. It was really scary. That would have happened right by my house. From there I don't know what happened but I heard more Police cars join the pursuit. I wonder what he did? I mean, we can hardly get an officer to pull someone over for speeding on this road. It took a good hour for my heart to stop racing.
So I did get a few shots of the kids at the water and visiting the pirate at Crabby Dicks but no pictures of the chase. Lol. Sorry!

For some reason I'm surprised there aren't *more* police chases in DC! ;)
Great blog. Thanks for sharing.
