Potty Training 101.9

My gray hairs are multiplying as the days go on. This potty training thing is frustrating. I'm sure that's not news to any of you.

Kieran went potty once today at school. When we got home I showed him one of the caramels he had picked at Linvilla yesterday and put it on top of the entertainment unit and told him that he could have it when he went in the potty. As not to interrupt his important Wonder Pets episode I stuck the potty in the living room for him to use. Within 10 minutes he tinkled! I'm happy but not totally convinced. He's done this before. Even with praise and treats he will refuse.

Right now there's an orange gummy dinosaur sitting on top of the entertainment unit staring him in the face. I probably shouldn't have put it up there right after he went the last time because he won't shut up about it. I keep telling him that he can have it the next time he uses the potty but he is still insisting on having it. Well, you'll get it when you use the potty. He keeps asking me to get him a ladder. In the meantime Jenna got her hands on what was left of Kieran's breakfast bar. (pictured above)

I hate having to use candy as a reward but this is my last resort. I'm just glad I have a good dentist. We may be up with a wild maniac until 10pm but at least he went in the potty!

4:30pm Update- So much for success today. He's still going in his pull up even though I'm reminding him very regularly about the potty. I can't let this kid go naked or in big boy pants because of last week's incdent where he peed EVERYWHERE twice. I've just had it.

7:30 Update- He finally tinkled in the potty at 5:30. He got his dinosaur. I put another one up on the entertainment unit and he screamed for it for an hour. Poor thing. He ended up falling asleep with his pants off on the floor at 6:30. Awwww.
