Signs of Summer

Sunday the kids, Tripp and I took a wagon ride to the gas station/convenience store in town. Tripp needed a gallon of gas for the lawn mower and I needed milk for the kids. It was a beautiful day and the kids love the wagon.

When we got there it was packed. For some reason Delaware City was packed. Route 9 is a big motorcycle road so I think everyone on the face of this earth with a really obnoxiously loud motorcycle comes through. There is also a marina and dock at Governor Bacon where people can boat for the day. There was a few baseball games going on and a lot of people going to Crabby Dicks for lunch. With those 4 things combined, plus the regular townspeople, it was packed. It almost felt like when the summers would come in Avalon. It would go from being empty to packed in a matter of days. I just don't recall it being that busy in town but maybe it's just me.

Anyway, since it was really hot and the lines inside the store were so long (we never could get gas because the lines were 9 cars deep) that the kids were sweating. The store had Snoopy Ice Cream pops so I picked up two of them. What a mess but they LOVED them! Everyone had to be stripped before entering the house and the wagon had to be hosed down. Now that's a sign of a good trip.
