Delaware City Day 2007

Jenna was amazed by all the balloons.
Kieran patiently waiting for the parade to start.
Jenna helping with the camera. (she took a face plant on Friday and has a few boo boos on her face)
Jenna's not sure of the loud firetrucks.

This year's Delaware City Day was a wonderful day. Even though it was somewhat quiet with family and friends this year it was still fun. The kids LOVED the parade. Let me tell you, as much as I complain about the small house and the small yard right on the street there is nothing better than walking out your front door to a parade (not to mention being able to bake bread during the parade) then walking a few blocks to Moonbounces and pony rides and then later on to see some pretty fantastic fireworks. The neighbors are just great. Even though they do have lots of guests we never have to worry about anything getting out of hand. Everyone's very respectful and fun. As Tripp and I kept saying last night, this one day makes up for a year of complaining. Although the more I am hearing stories of other friend's neighborhood issues I'm starting to appreciate my nice quiet town where the neighbors look out for each-other. It has changed so much since we first moved in.

Amazingly so BOTH kids made it to fireworks this year. In the years past Kieran wore himself out by 8pm and has never ever made it to see the fireworks. Jenna is our night owl so I wasn't even worried to whether or not she'd make it to them. She LOVED the fireworks. Kieran was a bit scared but then he was sooooooo tired. When we got home at 10:30 Kieran was ready to collapse but Jenna kept wanting to party on. We had to practically wrestle her up to her bedroom. We may be in trouble when she gets older.

OMG! I can't believe we missed DE City Day again! Glad to hear the area is turning around. Your kids look great. And we're also still waiting for our daughter's hair to get going. Almost 2 already.

What kind of problems are your friends having in their communities?
